Jerantut Eye Screening

Jerantut, Pahang; 30th September - 1st October 2023.

We had the honour of having our dearest Director (Prof Nazirah) joining our little adventure.

Did we tell you it was a Glamping event? sleeping under the starry sky (in a tent, of course; never would we sleep outdoors unsheltered for we aim to reduce the admission rate for dengue fever), with cool breeze casually flowing underneath our tarp, resulting in the iconic flappy sound.

Of course, with any other entries, one would not skip away at discussing about food. We had scrumptious fried flat noodles and a wide array of kuehs.

I should probably tally up foods that were shoved down our oesophagus by the end of the year.

Our utmost gratitude to Horus for the handheld fundus camera which caught the attention of our Director (whether or not her outcome was unremarkable remains absolutely confidential).

Kids absolutely loved the company and did not mind the volunteers telling them to read top to bottom. I know I definitely would.

It was a tiring trip but it was definitely memorable and hey, we felt content providing a much needed service to the community.
