The 36th Silent Mentor Workshop was held from 5/12/2023- 10/12/2023. The Universiti Malaya Silent Mentor Program was set up in 2012 with Tzu-Chi University of Taiwan. This cadaveric workshop provides a channel for the public to contribute as body donors tas a holistic approach to professional medical education.
Eight registrars participated in the Ophthalmology session on 9/12/2023 under the guidance of Dr Fazliana, Prof Nurliza and Prof Sujaya.
The procedures that were taught included squint surgery, enucleation, cornea procurement, and lid tarsorraphy.
On 10/12/2023 a Ceremony of Gratitude and Send-Off for Cremation was held in Auditorium TJ Danaraj in the Faculty of Medicine. Representatives of each workshop were present to show respect to the donors and their family members.
