I am proud to share a major milestone achieved by our team. Five years after I was posted to Hospital Kuala Lipis in 2021 to establish ophthalmology services, we successfully organized the first-ever cataract surgeries at Hospital Sultanah Hajjah Kalsom, Cameron Highlands—the highest-altitude hospital in Malaysia.
Under the "Pembedahan Katarak Warga Emas Inisiatif Makmur Negeri Pahang" program, preoperative clerking was conducted on May 9th–10th, 2026, alongside dedicated teams from Hospital Raub, Hospital Temerloh, and Hospital Kuala Lipis.

On July 18th–19th, 2026, five surgeons from across Pahang supported by 5 medical officers and 15 paramedics performed successful surgeries for 44 elderly patients, featuring subsidized intraocular lenses sponsored by the Pahang State Government.
The official launch ceremony was graced by YB Dato' Hajah Sabariah binti Saidan. The initiative proceeded smoothly, and I hope we can continue delivering essential eyecare services to rural communities in the coming years.
