On Saturday, 27th of April 2025, deep in the forest nestled in Petaling Jaya, the Lions Club organised a charity walk to raise awareness and funds for the visually impaired.
How serene!
As the name suggests, participants took part in a 3-kilometre walk but with a twist.
A handful of us attended the event but there was an overwhelming support from the general public. There were even school kids!
We were blindfolded (gasp) but, fortunately led by people who were not (phew). I was blindfolded but reportedly the view was quite scenic (based on my other remaining senses e.g. auditory).
Somewhat scenic
Thank you Prof Nazirah (in yellow) for dropping by!
All in all, it was an eye-opening (pun intended) experience – the interactions and the adaptions to do daily activities highlighted the struggles faced by individuals with visual impairments.
And of course, being Malaysians, the event ended off with light refreshments (which I unfortunately did not take a photo of and thus, am unable to write a report on such).
Till then!
